Development of Engineering Practices in Platform and Product TeamsWe were involved as external experts in a working group focused on launching an internal accelerator to develop engineering practices in product and platform teams within a fast-growing company. As part of this activity, we conducted a study of 4 product clusters, 5 platform clusters, and over 30 teams.
The research was conducted through calls with representatives from product and platform clusters, units, and teams (HoE, EM, TL), analysis of tasks in Jira, documentation in Confluence, boards and diagrams in Miro, OKR analysis, maturity models of teams, internal platforms, dashboards, and metrics.
Key results of the research:- Identified issues and constraints related to the interaction between clusters and teams.
- Found problems and limitations regarding the resources of product and platform teams.
- Prepared recommendations for updating engineering practices and metrics in the Team Maturity Model.
- Developed options for launching and growing the internal accelerator, considering existing constraints.
- Compiled recommendations into a written report, created diagrams in Miro, and delivered a presentation.
